The Coffee Ritual
Why your morning drink is more than caffeine?
People know that my go-to morning drink of choice is water. I didn’t delve into the coffee/caffeine category until I started working in IT/Tech, & I learned quickly that to even function through basic dialogue, I needed coffee as a form of a pick-me-up. However, I think one option that I have gone away from but need to revisit is green tea. I think that for a few people, tea is too simple, but simple enough to do its job. I would prefer to have something I can enjoy & not be stressed about when drinking. I think the first few times I made green tea, I was making it similar to how I would make coffee, which is the worst idea in the world. I learned over time how flawed that idea is.
To answer the main question/prompt/thought, my alternative to caffeine is water. I know for a fact how horrible energy drinks are. They mess every part of your body up in a way that you don’t even think they’re impacting you. Our heart battles itself when drinking an energy drink. The worst part is that I was famous for drinking Monster energy drinks in my sleep (Java Bean), & I knew what they were doing before I had them. The lessons come in ways we wouldn’t even try to understand.
Lord, keep my morning consumption of caffeine to a minimum or nonexistent during this current season/era of living and being. Thank you for the simple things you’re providing me to get through my daily tasks and activities. Please protect my heart and my mind during this season. I ask these things in Jesus’ name. Amen. Enjoy your day.
